progesterone became part of what I was tracking, alongside hot flashes. The useful bit was noticing timing rather than trying to turn one week into a final answer.

The appointment thing is so real. I used to walk in with a whole list in my head and then just answer whatever the doctor asked and leave having said none of it. Writing it down beforehand changed that completely for me, even just scribbles on my phone.
The honest rather than cheerful thing is so hard to actually do in the room. I always go in with good intentions and then find myself saying 'yes, fine, much better thanks' before I've even sat down properly. Good luck with it.
The hotel version being easier makes complete sense to me. No washing up visible from the desk, no cat staring at you, no awareness that the garden needs doing. I have a riser too and it mostly holds a cardigan and a charger.
