Just popping back to say thank you, especially A.A.. I read all of these with a cup of tea and had a little cry, in a good way. This community is such a relief sometimes.

Miriam, 43. Got a GP appointment coming up and I genuinely don't know what to say when I get in there. Last time I sat down and just... went blank. Walked out with nothing. So I've started writing things down this time. Not in any organised way, just notes on my phone when I remember. Things like: couldn't get off the sofa Tuesday afternoon, had to leave work early Wednesday, fell asleep before the kids were even in bed Thursday. That sort of thing. What I'm trying to figure out is what actually LANDS with a GP. Like, is it useful to say "I'm exhausted all the time" or do they need specifics? Does it help to track how many hours I slept versus how rested I actually felt? Because those two things are very different in my life right now. Also wondering whether anyone brought in notes about the bleeding alongside the fatigue, or kept them separate. I have a feeling they're connected but I don't know how to show that clearly. If anyone has been through this and worked out what made the doctor actually listen, I'd really love to know. What did you write down? What did you wish you'd tracked? x

GP appointment booked for next week and I am quietly panicking about walking in there and just... going blank. Every time I try to explain how tired I am it comes out wrong and she writes 'fatigue' on the screen and moves on. Can I ask what you lot actually tracked before appointments? Like the specifics. I've started writing down the heavy days but I don't know if I should be noting how tired I feel on those days too, or whether that's a separate thing entirely. The fatigue is honestly the bit that's wrecking me most. Not just tired, like, can't-form-a-sentence tired by 2pm. I fell asleep on the sofa before the kids were even in bed on Tuesday and I can't keep doing that. Also wondering whether to ask about iron levels specifically or just let her lead. I've read a few threads on here and some of you seem really prepared going in and I just want to not leave feeling fobbed off again x
