Miriam, 43. Got a GP appointment coming up and I genuinely don't know what to say when I get in there. Last time I sat down and just... went blank. Walked out with nothing. So I've started writing things down this time. Not in any organised way, just notes on my phone when I remember. Things like: couldn't get off the sofa Tuesday afternoon, had to leave work early Wednesday, fell asleep before the kids were even in bed Thursday. That sort of thing. What I'm trying to figure out is what actually LANDS with a GP. Like, is it useful to say "I'm exhausted all the time" or do they need specifics? Does it help to track how many hours I slept versus how rested I actually felt? Because those two things are very different in my life right now. Also wondering whether anyone brought in notes about the bleeding alongside the fatigue, or kept them separate. I have a feeling they're connected but I don't know how to show that clearly. If anyone has been through this and worked out what made the doctor actually listen, I'd really love to know. What did you write down? What did you wish you'd tracked? x
