After reading about other women's experiences with Magnesium Glycinate, I decided to try it for my irregular periods and mood swings. I slept better for the first time in months within the first month. the symptoms were about 70% better by 12 weeks. I wish I'd started sooner.

Mixed feelings about Magnesium Glycinate. energy improved was noticeable, but sleep didn't improve much didn't really improve. It might work for others but was modest for me.

Unfortunately Magnesium Glycinate didn't work for my night sweats and anxiety. I gave it 10 weeks and if anything I felt slightly worse. My GP suggested trying a different approach.

Dr Gottfried's approach to testing and supplementing before jumping to HRT made sense for me. Got my vitamin D tested (it was low), started a protocol of D3, omega-3, and magnesium. Sleep improved within 3 weeks, mood stabilised by week 6. Not a miracle cure but a solid foundation. My GP was supportive and we agreed to reassess for HRT if symptoms worsen.

Not ready for HRT yet so trying the supplement route first. Magnesium glycinate before bed has definitely helped with sleep — I'm not waking at 3am every night anymore. The ashwagandha I'm less sure about. Maybe slightly less anxious? Hard to tell. Giving it another month before I decide whether to continue or talk to my GP about HRT.
