After 12 weeks on Norethisterone, I'd say it made a modest difference to my debilitating cramps. The change was there but subtle. Might try something different.

Tried Norethisterone on the recommendation of online menopause community. The first few weeks were slow to show results, but by week 10 I felt like I had my life back. I'd recommend discussing it with your GP.

I really wanted Norethisterone to help with my debilitating cramps but after 8 weeks I saw no meaningful improvement. the symptoms persisted despite consistent use. My GP suggested trying a different approach.

Norethisterone was the first hormonal treatment my GP tried for my endo. Initially the pain improved but by month two the side effects became overwhelming — I gained nearly a stone, my mood plummeted, and I developed acne worse than I'd had as a teenager. The depression got so bad I had to stop. My GP said the mood impact affects a significant minority of women on progestogens. I felt dismissed when I reported the side effects initially.

My gynaecologist prescribed norethisterone to suppress my periods and help manage the endo. The pain relief was genuinely good — by week 6 I was getting through days at work that I'd normally have to call in sick. The low mood was annoying but manageable. I'd say this was one of the more effective things I've tried.
