Honestly I've been feeding a family for thirty years and now I'm the one standing in my own kitchen going "but where's my protein in this" 😂 My lot want pasta, curry, the usual. Fine. But I've started quietly bulking up whatever I'm making for myself. Extra chicken in my portion, a handful of butter beans stirred into the sauce before I dish up. Nobody notices, nobody complains, and I'm actually staying full past eight o'clock which has not happened in about two years. Breakfast has been the bigger change if I'm honest. I used to just have toast and wonder why I was ravenous by half ten. Now it's eggs most mornings, sometimes with smoked salmon if I've got it from the weekend, sometimes just scrambled with whatever's in the fridge. It genuinely holds me. That sounds obvious but it wasn't obvious to me. I'm trying to plan three proper dinners a week where protein is actually the point rather than an afterthought. The other nights are whatever everyone else wants and I just adapt my plate. Also got bloods coming up and I want to ask about iron and B12 because my energy has been all over the place. Has anyone had those flagged as fine on paper but still felt rubbish? That's what I'm trying to get my head round before I go in. x
