30-Minute Full Body Resistance Band Workout

A well-designed resistance band session can replace a dumbbell session entirely — the resistance is real, the joint loading is gentle, and the convenience is exceptional.

30 min · Kit: 2 resistance bands (one light, one medium/heavy), Door anchor or post

The session

  1. 13 min warm-up
  2. 23×12 Banded squat (band below knees, push knees out)
  3. 33×12 Banded Romanian deadlift (band under feet, hinge)
  4. 43×12 Banded row (anchor at waist height)
  5. 53×12 Banded chest press (anchor behind, press forward)
  6. 63×12 Banded overhead press (band under feet)
  7. 73×12 Banded lateral walk
  8. 83×15 Banded pull-apart
  9. 93 min stretching

Worth knowing

  • Loop bands and long bands serve different exercises — having both increases versatility significantly
  • Bands provide progressive resistance — tension increases as the band stretches, so the top of each movement is hardest
  • Travel with resistance bands: they weigh almost nothing and replicate a full gym session
  • Bands are not toys — quality bands under tension can snap; always check for nicks before use
