Why am I so tired? Perimenopause exhaustion, explained
Exhaustion is the most commonly reported change of perimenopause, ahead of hot flashes. What is actually behind it, what is worth ruling out, and what women commonly change.
Exhausted, but the blood tests came back normal
You went, you were tested, you were told everything is fine, and you are still exhausted. What normal actually rules out, what it does not, and what to ask next.
How long does perimenopause fatigue last?
The honest answer to how long midlife exhaustion goes on for, what tends to change it, and why the timeline is less useful than it sounds.
Questions to ask your doctor about exhaustion and perimenopause
Exhaustion is easy to wave off and hard to describe. The questions worth asking, how to describe it so it lands, and a free tool that preps the whole conversation.

Energy is the thing every other change in these years is paid for out of. Protecting it is what makes the rest possible.
Later in the journey
Later in the journey the picture shifts: the swings that drain the 40s usually calm, and energy for many women comes back. Past menopause, tiredness that persists leans more on muscle, iron, thyroid and heart than on hormones swinging, which is why it stays worth ruling things out rather than assuming this is simply how life is now.
Where this comes from
Written for Narrated, drawing on published survey work on what women in this stage actually report. Exhaustion is the most common thing described and one of the least written about, so most of this had to be made rather than gathered.
