10-Minute Morning Mobility Flow
A short mobility practice done regularly is one of the most underrated things you can do for how you feel throughout the day.
10 min · Kit: Yoga mat or carpeted floor
The session
- 11 min: Neck rolls — slow clockwise and counter-clockwise circles, 3 each direction
- 21 min: Shoulder rolls and chest opener — roll shoulders back and drop shoulder blades; open arms wide
- 31 min: Thoracic rotation — seated or standing, rotate upper body side to side 10 times
- 41 min: Hip circles — hands on hips, slow large circles each direction
- 51 min: Standing hip flexor stretch — lunge position, one knee down, gentle forward lean; 30 sec each side
- 61 min: Cat-cow — on hands and knees, arch and round the spine with breath
- 71 min: Child's pose with wide knees — rest and breathe
- 81 min: Downward dog calf walk — pedal the heels alternately
- 91 min: Spinal twist — lying on back, knees to one side; hold and breathe; repeat other side
- 101 min: Legs up the wall or gentle reclined rest
Worth knowing
- Move slowly — this is about finding range, not forcing it
- Breathe into each movement; never hold the breath
- If the floor feels hard on wrists, do cat-cow on fists
- Consistency matters more than perfection — even 5 minutes daily makes a difference
