5-Minute Posture Reset
Five minutes of targeted posture work done regularly can noticeably change how your neck, shoulders, and upper back feel across the working week.
5 min · Kit: None (can be done at a desk)
The session
- 11 min: Chin tucks — sitting tall, gently tuck chin back (not down); 10 reps
- 21 min: Chest opener — clasp hands behind back, squeeze shoulder blades; hold 20 sec × 2
- 31 min: Thoracic extension over chair back — gently arch upper back over chair back; 5 slow reps
- 41 min: Wall angels — back against wall, arms slide up and down like a snow angel; 10 reps
- 51 min: Standing hip flexor release — one foot on a chair, gentle forward lean
Worth knowing
- Chin tucks are one of the single most useful desk exercises — reversing forward head posture
- Thoracic mobility is often the missing piece in shoulder, neck, and upper back comfort
- Every hour of sitting is worth a 5-minute movement break
- This sequence can be done in work clothes at a desk or standing at a counter
