Movement

Moving when you are too tired to move

The advice that lands worst when you are exhausted, and the version of it that is actually doable.

Why it is worth saying carefully

Regular movement is one of the most consistent things associated with better energy and better sleep in midlife research. Being told to exercise when you can barely stand up is also one of the least useful sentences in women's health.

Both are true. The gap between them is intensity.

What tends to work on an empty tank

Short and gentle beats long and virtuous. Ten easy minutes done five times a week does more than one punishing session that costs you the following day.

Earlier rather than later, where the day allows it.

Strength work twice a week is the piece with the longest payoff, and it does not have to be heavy to count.

If a session leaves you flattened for a day afterwards rather than tired for an hour, that is worth mentioning to a doctor rather than pushing through.

Where to start

The gentle sessions in this section are filtered for exactly this, and most are under fifteen minutes.

Energy is the thing every other change in these years is paid for out of. Protecting it is what makes the rest possible.

General information, not medical advice. Narrated never diagnoses.
