Boxing conditioning develops upper body strength, rotational power, and cardiovascular fitness while being uniquely engaging — many women find it the most fun they've had exercising.
20 min · Kit: Optional: boxing gloves (not required), Music with a consistent beat
The session
- 13 min warm-up: bouncing, shoulder rolls, arm swings
- 23 min: Basic jab-cross combination — practice rhythm and rotation
- 33 min: 1-2-hook-uppercut combination (jab-cross-hook-uppercut)
- 43 min: Defensive footwork — pivot and step; practice in mirror
- 53 min: Body punches + core rotation
- 63 min: Timed rounds — 30 sec combinations / 30 sec light footwork × 3
- 72 min: Cool-down: shoulder, rotational stretch
Worth knowing
- Power in boxing comes from hip rotation, not arm strength — focus on rotating the torso
- Shadow boxing is a legitimate cardiovascular exercise — martial arts athletes use it seriously
- Stance: dominant hand back, non-dominant foot forward; hips slightly angled
- This is a genuinely fun workout — the combination of rhythm, coordination, and physical effort creates a different kind of engagement
