15-Minute Mindfulness in Motion

Slow, attentive movement is a legitimate practice in its own right — distinct from exercise but deeply valuable for the connection between mind and body.

20 min · Kit: Nothing

The session

  1. 13 min: Standing stillness — notice weight distribution, breathing, micro-sway
  2. 23 min: Slow walking meditation — feel each heel, arch, toe; deliberate pace
  3. 33 min: Mindful arm raises — raise both arms overhead extremely slowly; feel every centimetre
  4. 43 min: Standing hip sway — side to side, noticing the rhythm
  5. 53 min: Slow neck rolls — complete attention on the sensation of each degree of rotation

Worth knowing

  • Move at a third of your normal speed throughout
  • The goal is not cardiovascular — it is conscious embodiment and nervous system regulation
  • Practicing this before bed is genuinely useful for sleep transition
  • Mindful movement can shift the relationship with the body from "something to manage" to "somewhere to be"
